Welcome to a my blog series appropriately named Your Flagstaff Wedding Vendors! Flagstaff is a hidden gem for many reasons but one of the biggest is our variety of wedding vendors for couples looking to get married in our mountain town. From Photographers (represent!) to DJs, Florists, Rental Companies and Chefs my goal is to highlight as many vendors in our community as I can so you can make the most informed decision or referral when your wedding comes up.

In this series of blog posts I'll be interviewing our Flagstaff wedding vendors and share more about what they offer, who they are and how you can get in touch with them. Today our spotlight is Jaeylynn Lockwood, a Flagstaff-based Wedding Coordinator operating Lockwood Events + Design.

Please take a moment to share! Who are you and what service do you offer in the Flagstaff Wedding Vendor arena?

My name is Jaelynn Lockwood! I'm a University of Arizona Alumni, currently nestled in the Northern pines of Flagstaff and available for travel all over Arizona! I have been planning weddings and events in Arizona since 2018 with my rental company Northern AZ Event Rentals . With a diverse background in social work, hospitality, fashion design, fashion retail, and small business ownership, transitioning into the event industry was a natural progression. I live for the details and love being a part of making clients dreams a reality! I'd love to get to know you and coordinate your wedding here in Flagstaff or anywhere in Arizona!

What is your favorite thing about your business?

I’ve always had a creative bone and needed a career that could fully satisfy this. The design and styling aspect of a wedding is my absolute favorite! Working months – to a year with clients and finally seeing the vision beautifully come together is a reward in itself! Also, being a part of a couples most memorable day in their lives is inimitable! Being able to travel and experience different wedding venues from Northern to Southern Arizona is also pretty incredible!

What is your favorite review or piece of feedback you've ever gotten from a client?

Jaelynn really went above and beyond anything I expected for my wedding. With COVID shutdowns and having to move my date multiple times she was very flexible and able to adjust things accordingly and quickly. From start to finish I was the most relaxed bride knowing she was going to provide me with not only a beautiful service but beautiful presentation as well. The run of show was smooth and least stressful as possible, when it came time to the reception I was in complete awe of how amazing everything turned out! From the details she added to the cake table to the minor details at the entrance table. If you are looking for the full package when it comes to a wedding planner please book her! She will make your wedding as stress-less as possible, as well as giving you exactly what you want in a wedding.

What is your favorite thing to offer your clients and why?

As mentioned, I have always been creative. Fashion has always been near and dear to me as my grandmother is a seamstress and taught me how to sew at a young age. Watching her create wedding dresses from scratch inspired me to do the same as a service to my clients. I offer handmade boho dresses for elopements and micro weddings so brides don’t have to spend a fortune on a dress they will only wear for a few hours.

In addition to all of the things already listed, I can also serve as the vendor for some of your event needs. I am just that kind of crazy (in love with my work!). This includes:

~ Floral design

~ Specialty event equipment and décor rentals.

~ Stationary design and production

~ Custom made favors and wedding party gifts

What is the trickiest part about being a Flagstaff-based Wedding Coordinator?

I think the trickiest part about being a Flagstaff wedding vendor is creating events out of unique and outdoor spaces (forest weddings).

How would you describe your "dream client"?

It is hard to narrow down a "dream client" as most clients in Flagstaff are so down to earth and just want a fun day to celebrate with their friends and family and I am all for that! I would say I have more fun with clients who also hire me for design services as that is my favorite part of a wedding and love to be hands on when it comes to making their vision a reality!

Where would you like to see your business one year from now?

One year from now I would like to see my business continuing to flourish in Northern AZ.

Where can interested potential clients find your pricing information?

Most of my pricing is listed on my websites (see links below!) except for wedding planning, as that always seems to require a customized quote specific to each client so I have a PDF I send out to them once they inquire.

Is there someone in your industry that inspires you to keep going when things get tough or to create outside of your comfort zone?

Alexis Holle with Holleday Productions has been an AMAZING mentor! It is great to have a frendor (friend + vendor) in the industry to go to when things get complicated or when I just need to vent about the wedding vendor life!
