Vendors I'm always looking to connect more with as a photographer are local videographers. And while my clients are always quick to ask who I recommend, the strange truth is that many of my clients either haven't booked a videographer for their event or they booked a Phoenix-Based videographer. And... well... this series is to support local! While I may one day expand this blog series to include Phoenix Wedding Vendors, we're starting local.
When clients plan their wedding in Flagstaff it's a honor that they typically want to support our small local businesses and vendors in tandem with that decision. So I've been excited to use this series, selfishly, as an opportunity to connect with more of our videographers that are here in town and learn more about who I can look forward to working with too!

Who are you and what service do you offer in the Northern Arizona Wedding Vendor arena?
We are Tyler and Dani and we exclusively offer filming services to Northern Arizona. I've dedicated myself to learning everything possible about creating the best audiovisual experience for our clients. I love the science of film and the beauty that technology can help us create. This is a second career for me and I'm mostly self-taught, attending many semesters at the University of YouTube, trial and error and a LOT of late-night reading on the latest tech and trends. One thing I'm especially proud of is the attention I've given to honing my audio skills. Audio is tricky to master and not every video team puts a high priority on it, but I have learned that audio is no less important than beautiful imagery in telling a story.
How long have you been creating in your space and what made you decide to offer these services for Arizona couples planning their weddings?
This will be our 8th year providing video services to the wedding industry. In addition to being something I naturally enjoy, I think video is vital for important days like a wedding. There are some moments that just can't be captured in the same way with still photos. We like to make sure video is relatively affordable for the average couple so they can remember the beautiful movements and sounds of their day.
Where are you based currently and what areas or Northern Arizona do you serve?
We are based in Flagstaff and live very close to NAU. We primarily serve the Flagstaff and Sedona markets. Our dogs like it when we work close to home so the pack isn't broken up for too long, but we also love to travel!
What is your favorite thing about your business?
Having my own business, in a field that I enjoy, is a privilege. I mostly appreciate having the freedom to express creativity in my own way. I can choose who I work with and collaborate on projects in a way that feels authentic.
What was the biggest challenge or most unexpected obstacle you've had to overcome? This can be a general challenge or a specific project that tested your abilities.
I knew going into this field that it wasn't going to be easy. Technology is rapidly evolving and it is a constant evaluation of what deserves a spot in my toolkit so I often have new gear or software to do my job best and provide value to my clients. This means there are frequent capital investments and a large investment of time to learn new tools.
What is your favorite review or piece of feedback you've ever gotten from a client?
"We absolutely cannot put into words the emotions that came to surface being able to relive the best day of our lives through your lens...how wonderful it was to have you two fit right in and enhance the day even more. We are so lucky to have met you and hope that [our wedding] was not the last day we get to spend with you."
"We both agree that they were the best decision we made with our wedding... they were just such a joy and we loved having them at our wedding and it just felt like they were as happy to be there as the rest of our longtime friends and family. The video we received was so gorgeous and made everyone cry. They understood what we wanted and then over delivered."
What is the trickiest part about being a Flagstaff-based or Northern Arizona-Based vendor?
Dealing with rain and wind! Wind looks great sometimes but sounds terrible every time. The good thing is, when we expect it, we can prepare for it. Wind shields, camera covers and a good pair of boots help us get through any unfavorable weather.
How would you describe your "Dream Client"?
Well, Dani and I really like to laugh and have fun. So we enjoy working with clients who are easygoing and laugh with us. I really appreciate having a trusting relationship with my clients so they are confident that I have the professional skills they need and that I will exceed their expectations. Our Dream Clients are the ones we still keep in touch with and watch their family grow!
Where would you like to see your business one year from now?
Dani and I would like to continue strengthening our relationships with other local vendors so we can continue working together to provide an authentic Northern Arizona experience for couples marrying here. Although we would love to stay busy and expand our services, we prioritize the right jobs over the number of jobs. A successful year for us would be filled with satisfied clients, smooth projects, and a good time with fellow vendors.
Where can interested potential clients find your pricing information? Do you have a price range for your services you feel comfortable sharing here?
Our services start at $1000 and we do everything from small and brief elopements to 14-hr days with a huge family and lots of festivities. I recommend emailing my beautiful assistant Dani to get our most current rate sheets and a custom quote.
